site.btaGlobal Women Leaders' Forum to Be Held in Sofia on Thursday

A Global Women Leaders' Forum will be held at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Sofia on Thursday. The event, organized by the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria (CWBB), will discuss opportunities for achieving gender equality in the workplace and in society at large.

The initiative aims to promote successful ideas and practices of individuals, companies and organizations in their quest to create a more sustainable, stable and equal society, the CWBB said.

Labour and Social Policy Minister Ivanka Shalapatova and Environment and Water Minister Julian Popov will take part in the event. On Tuesday, Shalapatova signed memorandums of cooperation in the area of equal opportunity for men and women with the Ladies' Forum and the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. The aim is to promote, through joint initiatives, the professional development of women in corporate, small and medium-sized business and entrepreneurship.

Attending the forum will also be actress Eli Skorcheva, translator Angela Rodel, military pilot Lt. Ioanna Daneva, Gas Infrastructure Europe Secretary General Boyana Achovski, Managing Director of the International Banking Federation, Hedwige Nuyens - CEO of the International Banking Federation and Chair of European Women on Boards, among others.
