site.btaEconomy Ministry Developing Digital Investment Portal

Speaking at a seminar for new members of the foreign diplomatic corps in Bulgaria, Economy and Industry Minister Bogdan Bogdanov announced that his Ministry is developing an investment portal that will bring together all public structures connected to the needs of investors. "The process will be digital and this way we will be able to limit corruption," he added, the Economy Ministry reported. 

One of the priorities in the policy of the Ministry of Economy and Industry is the creation of conditions for attracting investments in high value-added industries related to the circular economy, the automotive industry and renewable energy production, said Bogdanov during the seminar, hosted by his Ministry. 

Minister Bogdanov pointed out that Bulgaria is a good place for investment, as the country can become a transport and logistics hub. He underscored the Economy Ministry's vision for the development of industrial zones through which new investment projects can be attracted.

Bogdanov stressed that industrial zones should be prepared as investment projects and the possibility of public-private partnership should be opened for them with international or local investors interested in building them in partnership with the State. He highlighted the possibilities of attracting representatives of international institutions such as the World Bank or the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 

At the beginning of this week, Innovation and Growth Minister Milena Stoycheva said that her Ministry is working on a new Investment Promotion Act, which also includes modern European and international requirements for investment screening, as well as on the selection of strategic sectors to target investors and on the preparation of financial instruments through which Bulgaria could become attractive for such activities.
