In 2022, growth rate of GDP was 3.9% compared to the previous year, which is an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to preliminary data for 2022, the National Statistical Institute reported here on Thursday.

GDP at current prices for 2022 is BGN 167.809 billion, according to updated annual data, or more by BGN 2.425 billion compared to the preliminary data of BGN 165.384 billion.

Updated annual data for GDP in 2022 are compiled with updated statistical information based on annual statistical surveys and administrative sources.

The Gross Value Added (GVA) generated by the national economy in 2022 amounted to BGN 149.164 billion at current prices. GVA increased by 5.3% in 2022 compared to 2021.

In 2022, 76.4% of the GDP was used for final consumption expenditure. Investments (gross fixed capital formation) formed 17.1% of GDP. The external balance of goods and services was positive.
