The French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB), the French Embassy and the Bulgarian Industrial Association organized a visit of a 130-strong French business delegation from the largest employer organization MEDEF, an example of the deepening of economic ties between Bulgaria and France, the CCIFB said.

The three-day visit started with an introduction of the French delegation to the rich heritage and traditions of Sofia and Bulgaria, further strengthening the ties between the two nations and continued with a visit to the National Assembly of Bulgaria.

The programme included a conference with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Economy Nikolay Pavlov, French Ambassador Joel Meyer and the Head of the Economic Service at the French Embassy Emmanuelle Boulestreau, which brought together French and local business leaders, promoting dialogue on trade, investment and innovation.

A number of B2B meetings were held with CCIFB members, which provided a platform for delegates to explore opportunities for collaboration. These interactions laid the foundation for future partnerships and investments.

Vice President Iliana Iotova, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and Economy Minister Bogdan Bogdanov congratulated the delegates from France and expressed their support to the French investors in the country during an official gala dinner.

"This is the twenty-second edition of our international visits. As you know, Brittany is located in the extreme west of the European continent. The Bretons have always believed they could cross seas, and today we have crossed the land of Europe. The aim is the same: to find sources of inspiration, exchange ideas and learn from each other," said Eric Challan Belval, chairman of the MEDEF 35 employers' organization.

The event was attended by Laurence Boon, French Secretary of State for European Affairs, who was visiting Sofia on the same day.

Among the highlights of the visit were industrial visits in Sofia and Plovdiv. The delegates toured the state-of-the-art facilities at the Air Transport Institute, as well as at the companies Latecoere Bulgaria, Schneider Electric, Nasecomo, Top House and Oberthur Fiduciaire, demonstrating the country's technological progress and the investment-friendly environment.
