The Industrial Production Index increased by 1.3% in August 2023 compared to the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted, the National Statistical Institute said on Tuesday.

A growth was seen in the mining and quarrying industry - by 5.5%, in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 1.6%, and in the manufacturing - by 1.5%.

In August 2023, a decrease of 9.7% was registered in the calendar-adjusted Industrial Production Index in comparison with the same month in 2022.

Compared to August 2022, a drop was observed in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 40.5%, in the mining and quarrying industry - by 12.1%, and in manufacturing - by 1.9%.
