The annual planned overhaul of Unit 6 at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant begins on Monday, October 9. The shutdown of the nuclear power plant has been coordinated with the Central Dispatching Department of the "Electricity System Operator" EAD after a previously submitted application, the press service of the plant informed on Monday.

The maintenance will be carried out according to the technological requirements and is expected to be completed by the end of November.

During the unit's outage, the planned repair works, preventive maintenance and maintenance of the systems and equipment will be carried out, which will ensure safe and reliable operation and stable energy supply during the autumn-winter period. In parallel, the planned activities related to the long-term operation of the units will be implemented. The Unit 6 reactor will be refueled with fresh nuclear fuel for the next 29th fuel campaign, the statement said.

Kozloduy NPP Unit 5 is operating according to the power generation schedule, the press release said.
