site.btaBeekeepers Gather at 59th National Beekeeping Meeting

Professionals and amateur beekeepers from Bulgaria will gather for the 59th National Beekeeping Meeting "North-South" in the tourist complex "Beklemeto" on August 19, said Peter Mutafov, Chairman of the Beekeeping Society "Maika" in Troyan, which is co-oragnizer of the exhibition with Troyan Municipality, in partnership with the Union of Bulgarian Beekeepers.

There will be a round table with the presidents of the beekeeping societies and representatives of the State Fund Agriculture.

The event, in addition to specialized information and a discussion club of beekeepers' associations, also includes a bazaar of honey and bee products.  

This year beekeepers are reporting good yields, with 25-30 kg of honey per hive in Troyan, Mutafov said. According to him, about 65 people in this region are engaged in beekeeping, who have ten hives on average. There are about 800 bee colonies.
