According to the latest forecasts of the Economic Policy Institute, the total construction output in Bulgaria will see a real growth in 2023, which will be followed by another positive performance of the construction sector in 2024 and 2025.
This year's forecast is based on momentum in residential construction, slight growth in the non-residential segment and upwardly revised expectations for the performance of infrastructure construction. Accelerated implementation of projects funded through EU programmes and the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan underpin expectations that engineering construction will continue to register positive growth beyond 2023.
These are just some of the key messages in the Economic Policy Institute's latest report on the development of the country's construction sector, produced in partnership with the Eastern European Construction Forecasting Association (EECFA), which includes research organisations from eight countries in Southeastern and Eastern Europe. This year EECFA celebrates its tenth anniversary, and the Economic Policy Institute has been its partner for Bulgaria since before its official establishment in 2013.
