The Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) has conducted 3,491 inspections between January 1 and August 14 under the Protection of the Economic Interests of Consumers of Travel Product, the CCP reported on Wednesday.

CCP inspectors also carried out joint inspections initiated by and with other authorities, which were reported under the Joint Inspections campaign, as well as on complaints and alerts received from consumers reported under the Complaints and Alerts campaign. The Commission issued a total of 410 administrative offence certificates and 44 orders for the imposition of administrative coercion measures.

The Commission has reviewed 20 cases of violation of the Tourism Act, where tourist services were provided in tourist establishments that do not meet the requirements for the designated category of the respective establishment.

Under the Winter 2022-2023 Programme for preventive and follow-up control of compliance with the Tourism Act and the Consumer Protection Act, in order to ensure optimal protection of consumers' interests during the active winter tourist season by covering the maximum number of tourist establishments in the country, a total of 2,060 inspections were carried out between November 2022 and March 2023, of which 377 at accommodation establishments, 1,609 at catering and entertainment establishments, 72 at spa establishments and two at ski slopes. The inspections discovered 166 infringements.

The Summer 2023 programme continues to monitor compliance with the Tourism Act on the Black Sea coast.
