In July 2023, the monthly inflation rate, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.9% compared to the previous month, and the annual inflation rate in July 2023 compared to July 2022 was 8.5%, the National Statistical Institute said on Wednesday. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2023 compared to December 2022) was 3.3%, and the annual average inflation rate for the period August 2022 - July 2023 compared to the period August 2021 - July 2022 was 14.3%   
 
In July 2023, compared to the previous month, the highest increase was recorded in the prices for recreation and culture (+7.5%), restaurants and hotels (+2.9%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.8%) and health (+0.7%). The decrease was registered for clothing and footwear (-1.4%) and miscellaneous goods and services (-0.1%).
