site.btaWays to Connect Varna Airport with Slovenia Will Be Looked Into

“We’ll look into possibilities for connecting the airports in Ljubljana and Varna, or Maribor and Varna,” said Slovenian Ambassador here Natasa Bergelj, emerging from a meeting with Varna Mayor Ivan Portnih on Friday. She added that two discussed better connectivity between Slovenia and Varna and one aspect was a connection with Varna Airport.

The diplomat said that during the talk the sides discussed tourism and education. Another topic was the challenges before some Slovenian cities in their development as year-round destinations, said the Ambassador. She added that they discussed the development of Varna and how the city overcomes the challenges of developing as a year-round destination.

Mayor Portnih said that he familiarized his guest with the projects which Varna is developing. He said that Ljubljana has been chosen as European Green Capital in 2016 and he voiced hope that the two town halls can exchange good practices in this aspect.

“In my capacity as ambassador, I will do my best to organize a working meeting promptly, so that Ljubljana shares its good practices in this aspect,” said Natasa Bergelj. She added that Varna has every prerequisite to be a green city. “We will back Varna’s bid to become a European Green Capital,” said Bergelj.
