The parliamentary budget and finance committee Tuesday approved a pay raise for a number of sectors Tuesday as it voted on second reading provisions of the 2023 state budget bill.
Wages in the Interior Ministry system will be increased by 10%, The increase will also apply for the State Agency for National Security.
There were four proposals for wage increase in the Interior Ministry system and as they differed insignificantly, the committee adopted all of them and agreed to sum them up in their final report. GERB-UDF proposed an increase for the Interior Ministry wage bill outlays by BGN 157.2 million; Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) proposed BGN 150 million and vazrazhdane BGN 155.4 million.
A 10% wage increase was also approved for the Justice Ministry General Directorate Execution of Penalties and General Directorate Security
The outlays for wages in the National Revenue Agency and the National Customs Agency were increased by BGN 25 million from August 1.
The appropriations for the Defence Ministry wage bill increased by BGN 75 million.
The Bulgarian National Radio will get an additional BGN 1.5 million for wages.
The committee backed a proposal by Venko Sabroutev (CC-DB) for BGN 20 million for compensations to farmers for crops destroyed by hail storms in early 2023. They also backed a proposal by GERB for an extra BGN 8 million for wages in the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency and the Forestry Agency.
