The latest data from the Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Monitoring Centre at the Naval Academy in Varna as well as satellite monitoring do not show pollution of Bulgarian waters with potential pollutants as a result of the Nova Kakhovka incident. The latest satellite images show no pollution in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone, the Environment and Water Ministry said Friday. The bathing zones along the coast are clean as well.

From July 17 to 23, the Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) naval research ship is taking samples from the sea water at various points from the National Monitoring Network along the entire coast. The results from all points are expected next week, the Ministry said.

The Ministry is regularly monitoring and reporting on the water quality after the Kakhovka Dam incident on Ukrainian territory. The Environment Ministry is constantly exchanging information with the Ukrainian, Moldovan, and Romanian authorities about potential pollution of the Black Sea.
