site.btaState Folklore Ensemble Trakia to Mark Its 50th Anniversary with Gala Performance
State Folklore Ensemble Trakia will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a gala performance in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia on October 20. Dancers, musicians and choristers will present for the audience of Bulgarian folklore legendary stage works from the repertoire of the ensemble, its management said here on Friday.
"We tried to create diversity, to recreate dances and works from all folklore regions of Bulgaria," said Assoc. Prof. Dimo Enev, ballet master at Ensemble Trakia. Nowadays the ensemble continues to follow the idea of its founder Prof. Kiril Dzhenev for the construction of the so-called folklore theatre, noted Enev.
Special guests at the gala concert in Sofia will be the renowned Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares (The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices) choir and the Representative Brass Band of the National Guards Unit of Bulgaria.
The creative look of Ensemble Trakia was created by Prof. Kiril Dzhenev and has developed over the years with the help of some of Bulgaria's greatest authors in the field of music and dance - Assoc. Prof. Stefan Mutafchiev, Prof. Nikolay Stoykov, Prof. Nikolay Kaufman, Kosta Kolev, Zhivka Klinkova and many others. Since its inception, the ensemble has performed more than 8,000 concerts in 62 countries on all continents of the world.
