Shamanic neo-folk band from Iran based In Berlin Paganland and Bulgarian Nordic folk band Freija will perform together at the Bulgarian Pagan Tour. Music fans can catch these bands in Sofia's Pit Loud Music Bar on August 30, Plovdiv's Club Office Polinero on August 31 and Burgas's Sea Casino Culture Centre on September 1.
Paganland uses antique instruments from various regions of Iran, Asia and Europe in their performances. They have released seven albums and are currently working on a new concept album that is scheduled to be released in late 2024. They are frequent guests at metal and folk festivals.
Freija was founded in Plovdiv, South Central Bulgaria, by Teodora Stoyanova and Dobrin Stoyanov in 2019. The two have been working together since 2016, when they performed at the Kitee International Music and Art Festival in Finland. Their band gained popularity in 2022 when it reached the semifinals of the Bulgarian version of the Got Talent TV show.
Freija's concept is influenced by Norse sagas, mythology and culture. The band released their first album, which captured their performance as headliners at the Skogen Fest in Quebec, Canada, earlier this summer.
