A travelling exhibition, titled "The Heart of Nature" created by artist Vivia Niki will open in the Sea Casino Culture Centre in Burgas, on the Black sea, on August 9, reports the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation.

The exhibition includes 30 photographs of works or sculptures made of ice, snow, stones and other natural materials that show the beauty of nature in different seasons. Most of them were made in hard-to-reach locations and were filmed over the course of a year to cover the four seasons.

One of the popular shots in the exhibition is of the large-scale sand drawing made in Durankulak and covering an area of 510 square metres.

The artist, Vivia Niki, graduated in architecture at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and in film directing at the New Bulgarian University. She also studied computer music making and music therapy at the National Music Academy. Over the years, Niki has actively participated in causes related to environmental protection and the fight against pollution. She is the founder of a youth collective with the goal to plant of ennobled fruit trees on the territory of Sofia Municipality. So far, two orchards have been planted.

The profits from any sold photographs from the exhibition will be donated to educational environmental projects. Those include the aforementioned fruit tree planting initiative, lectures, open forums, as well a film project, titled  "Between Us and Nature", directed by Vivia Niki, the premiere of which is coming soon, the foundation added.

The exhibition will be open until August 25.
