The premiere of the theater play Edward II  will take place on Sunday, August 6, at the Grigor Prlichev Culture Centre in Ohrid, the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Center in Skopje (BGCIC) said on Friday.

The performance is a co-production of the Drama Theater in Plovdiv and the Yordan Hadzhikonstantinov-Dzhinot theater in Veles. The production is part of the official programme of the Ohrid Summer Festival and is realized with the support of BGCIC and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The collaboration between the two theaters includes two co-productions, The first one, Edward II, will be directed by the Ukrainian director Andriy Zholdak, and the second performance will be directed by Diana Dobreva from Bulgaria. The two theater productions will be rehearsed on the stages of the two theaters and will be accompanied by workshops in with the participation of students from the Europa Prima International University part, the Plovdiv Drama Theatre informed.

The play Edward II by Christopher Marlowe covers several different themes. The main direction is the story of Edward II, followed by Richard II by Shakespeare. Edward II will played by Bulgarian actor Boris Krastev.

The performance is not intended for an audience under the age of 16, the BGCIC added.
