The programme of the Bansko Jazz Festival is expanding, and in addition to the evening outdoor concerts, the 2023 edition includes various activities throughout the day, according to the organizers from Bansko Municipality and the Festivals in Bulgaria Association. The event starts on August 5 and will last until August 12. More than 250 musicians from 12 countries will perform 31 concerts on two stages.

In addition to the musical selection of international and Bulgarian performers, the festival programme includes a number of events dedicated to jazz culture. 2023 marks the launch of the "Jazz in Bulgaria" exhibition, a collection that tells the stories of the development of this style in the country. All the exhibits have been provided by donors, the organisers say.

Evening concerts will start at 7 p.m. On the opening day, the audience will be immersed in the enchanting atmosphere of the music of Yossif Tzankov, followed by a blend of symphony orchestra, jazz trio and trombone soloist - Velislav Stoyanov. The finale of the first evening will be set by guests from Australia - Frank Gambale and his All-star band, while the musicians of the Bulgarian Cinga Manga Funk will immerse the audience in their unique rhythms.

The daytime concerts begin at 11 a.m. in the city park.  Young talents will be given the opportunity to perform, and from 1 p.m. games for young and old will begin. Different locations in Bansko will be soundtracked during "Jazz in the City" every festival day from 5 p.m.

In this edition of the festival the performers from the big stage will hold their master classes with the participants of the "Jazz Academy".
