Environment and Water Minister Manol Genov presented Bulgaria’s environment and climate priorities to French Ambassador to Bulgaria Joel Meyer, Genov’s Ministry said on its website on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed topical issues in the field of bilateral relations regarding the environment, including climate change, energy ecological transition, nuclear energy, waste recycling, and water resource management. The two sides noted the successful cooperation in organizing the Eco-Municipality competition, hosted by the French Embassy and the French Institute in Bulgaria in partnership with Bulgaria’s Environment and Water Ministry. Meyer invited Genov to attend a forum on water management at the French Institute, which will take place in May.
The meeting was also attended by French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Stephane Delahaye. FBCCI unites some 350 French, Bulgarian, and international companies. During the event, it was emphasized that French companies, which have made successful investments in Bulgaria, plan to expand their operations in line with the highest environmental standards, the Ministry's statement further reads.
Genov and Meyer also discussed the progress on the Roadmap of Bulgarian-French Strategic Partnership.
