Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov and the Chairperson of Moldova's Taraclia District Lazar Dermenji discussed matters related to water resources management, irrigation, hydro-remediation, tackling drought and the effects of climate change, Genov's Ministry reported on Monday.

Bulgaria will provide the Moldovan region with 10,000 oak saplings for reforestation of areas affected by fire, the Minister said. He added that the Environment and Water Ministry is ready to provide expert assistance in the preparation of projects financed by the European Union that would benefit Taraclia.

Taraclia District is an administrative-territorial unit of the Republic of Moldova. More than 65% of its population is comprised of ethnic Bulgarians.
