site.btaPetrich to Build "Green Pulse" Park under Bulgaria-North Macedonia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme


Petrich Municipality will build a Green Pulse park under the Bulgaria-North Macedonia cross-border cooperation programme 2021-2027, the municipal administration said on Tuesday.
The project activities are aimed at improving the protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure and promoting sustainable urban development in the cross-border region of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia. The main goal is to create green urban spaces and improve ecosystem services in Petrich and Strumica. Petrich municipality is tasked with building a Green Pulse twin park in the town, which will serve as a model for sustainable urban development of the newly established network for urban ecosystems G-Pact in Bulgaria.
Among the main objectives will also be the creation and establishment of twinned Green Pulse parks in Petrich and Strumica as leading green urban spaces, illustrating innovative approaches to green infrastructure, biodiversity conservation and sustainable urban development. These parks will serve as focal points for community engagement, environmental education and promotion of ecosystem services, promoting cross-border cooperation and inspiring similar initiatives in the region.
The project is worth nearly EUR 950,000 and is being implemented by Petrich Municipality as the lead partner, together with Strumica Municipality from the Republic of North Macedonia, the Strumica Centre for Development and Promotion Promo Idea Association and the Together for Sandanski Association.
