Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov met here on Thursday with Hilde Svartdal Lunde, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Bulgaria, based in Bucharest, the Defence Ministry said in a press release. During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation in the field of defence and discussed the possibilities for deepening its scope both bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations.

The priorities of the countries in the defence sector were discussed, including increasing defence capabilities, modernizing the armed forces, increasing the defence budget, and countering malicious foreign information influence and manipulation. Particular attention was given to the importance and necessity of continuing support for Ukraine and achieving lasting and guaranteed peace in the region, the statement said.
