Parliament Adopts Budgets of BNT, BNR and BTA for 2025

On Friday morning, MPs adopted at second reading the budgets of the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) and the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) for 2025. The provisions on the budgets of the three public media were approved en bloc together with the budgets of the municipalities with 139 votes in favour, 57 against and 20 abstentions.

BNR’s budget for 2025 amounts to BGN 66,132,500, including BGN 3,900,000 under the Radio and Television Act. The national radio’s budget for 2024 was BGN 62,974,400.

A total of BGN 93,665,000, including BGN 6,100,000 under the Radio and Television Act, has been earmarked for BNT for 2025, up from BGN 86,980,600 in 2024.

The funds set aside for BTA amount to BGN 15,668,600. The agency’s budget for 2024 was BGN 11,856,500, and BGN 2 million were foreseen for additional funding, including remuneration for strengthening the capacity and activities of the BTA, and for the BTA correspondent offices.
