site.btaPatriarch Daniil Receives Bulgarian Orthodox Dignitaries from Turkiye

Patriarch Daniil, leader of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church (BOC), received Dimitri Yotef, who chairs the Foundation of the Orthodox Churches of the Bulgarian Exarchate in Istanbul (FOCBEI) and the Foundation of the St George Church in Edirne, the Bulgarian Patriarchate said on its website on Monday. FOCBEI Deputy Chair Hristo Kopano and three members of the board of trustees, Bulgaria's Consul General in Istanbul Vasil Valchev, Bulgaria's Consul General in Edirne Radoslava Kafedzhiiska and seven BOC metropolitans were also at the meeting.

Matters concerning the religious life of Bulgarians in Turkiye were raised during the discussion. The sides considered ways to encourage more Orthodox Bulgarian pilgrims to visit the Bulgarian churches in Istanbul and Edirne and more Bulgarians from Turkiye to visit churches in the homeland.

Patriarch Daniil extended blessings and greetings to all Bulgarians in Istanbul and Edirne, urging them to go to church regularly and to partake in the religious life of the BOC.
