Interior Minister Daniel Mitov held a working meeting with Germany Ambassador to Bulgaria Irene Maria Plank here on Tuesday, his ministry said in a press release. Minister Mitov thanked the Ambassador for Germany's support for Bulgaria's accession to Schengen. 

During the talks, the sides discussed the priorities of bilateral cooperation in the field of home affairs, which is among the most intensive within the EU. Emphasis was laid on the possibilities for expanding and deepening professional exchanges in migration management and border security. It was underscored that Bulgaria and Germany will continue with the intensive joint work to counter all forms of cross-border organised crime even more effectively. 

At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their shared commitment to constructive dialogue and the expansion of joint activities on all topics of mutual interest. Bulgaria and Germany will continue to work closely to ensure the security and effective management of the EU's external borders, the press release reads.
