site.btaParliament Chair Kiselova Confers with PABSEC Secretary General Hajiyev

National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova conferred with Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), the Parliament's press office said on Thursday. Hajiyev is paying a working visit in preparation for Bulgaria taking over the Assembly’s chairmanship on July 1, 2025.

The National Assembly will take over the six-month rotating PABSEC chairmanship from the Parliament of Azerbaijan. The Bulgarian Parliament will host the 66th plenary session of the PABSEC General Assembly.

Asaf Hajiyev presented the main aspects of PABSEC activities and emphasized the constructive contributions of Bulgarian parliamentarians to discussions on current issues concerning the Black Sea region. 

Kiselova said that the Bulgarian Parliament places great importance on maintaining and intensifying interparliamentary dialogue, including its participation in PABSEC's activities.

During his visit to Sofia, Asaf Hajiyev is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and President Rumen Radev.
