Bulgaria's highest ranked female tennis player, Viktoriya Tomova qualified for the quarterfinal of the hard court indoors tournament Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on Wednesday evening. She reached the third round after defeating the second seed in the tournament, world No. 41 Olga Danilovic.

The match ended in two sets but lasted almost two hours before the Bulgarian completed her 7-5 7-5 win. The Serbian had a lead and served for the win in both sets but Tomova managed to stage a comeback at 4-5 twice, saving a setpoint in the second.

In the quarterfinals the 29-year-old Bulgarian, currently No. 63 in the world rankings, will meet No. 54 Katerina Siniakova or No. 82 Caroline Dolehide.
