site.btaBAS President, Romanian Ambassador Discuss Scientific Cooperation

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) President Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva held a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria, Brandusa Predescu, the BAS press office said here on Friday.

The meeting, focused on the cooperation between the BAS and the Romanian Academy (RA), as well as the possibility of organizing joint conferences, round tables, and exhibitions.

Predescu and Slavcheva also discussed collaboration beyond the bilateral agreement between the two academies.

In September 2024, BAS and RA signed a new cooperation agreement at a ceremony in Bucharest. The agreement is a part of the initiative to celebrate BAS’s 155th anniversary. The new agreement provides a framework for scientific cooperation through joint research projects and aims to promote mutual exchange of information and knowledge transfer between the two neighboring countries.
