The ceremony to honour Sofia's top athletes for 2024 and announce the faces of the European Capital of Sport initiative for 2025 is set to take place on February 4 at the Museum of Physical Culture and Sports at the Vasil Levski National Stadium, Sofia European Capital of Sport Foundation said here on Friday.

Rhythmic gymnast and Olympic silver medallist Boryana Kaleyn has been named Athlete of Sofia for 2024. The silver medallist from Paris topped all the polls, amassing a record 45 points, surpassing artistic gymnast Valentina Georgieva, who came second with 23 points. Professional boxer Kubrat Pulev secured third place with a total of 6 points.
