Reporters Tuesday asked Rosen Zhelyazkov MP (GERB-UDF) about the future of government talks on the formation of a majority in the new Parliament, to which he said, "We will continue in plenary because today we have a lot of work to do". Zhelyazkov was approached by the press ahead of the first meeting of the parliamentary legal committee, which he was named to preside over.

He would not provide more details or give more clarity.

His comment comes a couple of days after GERB-UDF announced January 5 that it was calling off the talks on the formation of a parliamentary majority with Democratic Bulgaria (DB), BSP-United Left, and There Is Such a People (TISP) and blamed that on disagreement with DB over who would head a future government. Democratic Bulgaria said they heard about the suspension of talks from the news media.

On Tuesday, DB's Bozhidar Bozhanov and Nadejda Iordanova, who is the co-floor leader of the coalition of Continue the Change and Democratic Bulgaria in Parliament, declined to comment the matter.
