Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov convenes a National Meeting of the administrative heads of prosecution offices in the country and the Interior Ministry on December 2 on the topic "Activating the work of the Bulgarian Prosecution Service to ensure zero tolerance in countering cases of violence", the prosecuting magistracy's press service said on Friday. 

The meeting is to ensure a timely and lawful response in accordance with the standards of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the case law of the European Court in Strasbourg, as well as in compliance with Sarafov's order of November 27, 2024 in connection with the escalation of cases of violence in recent months.

The national meeting will discuss the necessary effective organisational and other measures to achieve real results in the fight against crime, which requires a high degree of coordination and cooperation between the prosecution and the Ministry of Interior bodies, especially with the General Directorate of the National Police, the General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime, and the regional directorates of the Ministry.
