site.btaVan Transporting Illegal Migrants Crashes on Sofia Thoroughfare

A Romanian-registered van transporting 10 illegal migrants crashed on Botevgradsko Chaussee Boulevard in Sofia, the Sofia Directorate of the Ministry of Interior told BTA on Monday.  

The driver of the van disobeyed a police signal to pull over, and a chase followed. The van hit another vehicle, whose driver, a woman, was taken to the St Anne University Hospital with a head injury, the Emergency Medical Aid Centre in Sofia told BTA.

One of the illegal migrants, a 17-year-old girl, had complaints indicating a panic attack, as well as a hypertensive crisis. She was assisted on the spot.

None of the migrants was hospitalized.
