Caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov Friday awarded 59 personnel from the Interior Ministry and other institutions and volunteers involved in fighting the fires across the country. The ceremony took place at the Ministry building.

"Thank you for your courage, bravery, and endless professionalism," Stoyanov addressed the awardees. The Minister praised them for their dedication and hard work. "You fulfilled your professional and civic duty by risking your life in an extremely complex and critical situation. Your strength, dedication, and valor produced the most important outcome: no lives were lost," Stoyanov said.

"You protected the lives, health, and property of Bulgarian people in the areas affected by the fire, which was your main task," the Minister added.
