Vice President Iliana Iotova Wednesday attended the celebration of the Day of Sozopol and addressed the residents and guests of the town, the President's press secretariat reported Thursday. "Bulgaria needs a government that collaborates effectively with local authorities and citizens, prioritizing the needs of the Bulgarian people over personal interests, party intrigues, and political disputes. The delayed response to the rampant fires serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to restore order in our country," Iotova said.

"The emblem of Sozopol is the anchor - a symbol of stability, hope and salvation. Let us carry the hope of salvation and be united as a people, because only then we are strong to overcome difficulties," Yotova said.

"Sozopol, with its centuries-old history that garners global recognition, is a vibrant town that never ages," Iotova said. She commended Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev and the municipal leadership for their relentless ambition and energy in developing the town, which continues to draw an increasing number of tourists. She gave high praise to the locals: "You are diligent stewards of not only your home, but also the ancient town of Sozopol".
