The Vazrazhdane and There Is Such a People (TISP) parliamentary groups Thursday gave a joint statement to reporters about their plans to refer the recent constitutional changes to the Constitutional Court. Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that they have already signed the document challenging the amendments to the Constitution, adopted by Parliament in late December.
In his words, his party and TISP had agreed to sign the document on the first workday of the National Assembly's new session and to submit it to the Constitutional Court. The document contains 40 pages of arguments on every single amendment to the Constitution.
TISP Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov said that his parliamentary group and Vazrazhdane are challenging every single thing proposed by the assemblage [the parliamentary groups supporting the Government], because "they got a huge F for overall creativity". In his words, this opinion is shared by all professional guilds in the field of law.
