site.btaMayor Terziev Says Sofia's 2024 Budget Will Be Presented for Public Consideration by Mid-January

Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev said in a Facebook post on Sunday that Sofia's budget for 2024 will be presented for public consideration by mid-January.

He added that with the adoption of the State Budget for 2024, 109 investment projects with a total value of nearly BGN 100 million have been approved for financing. Of these, nearly BGN 34 million will be invested in the northern regions of the capital, and work on all projects would be completed by the end of 2026 at the latest.

Terziev also reported that a solution has been found for the missing funds for Sofia's plumbing infrastructure, ensuring the completion of the projects and the possibility to apply for new ones, as well as to continue the construction of the capital's plumbing infrastructure.

Terziev also commented on the suspension of the Simeonovo mountain cabin lift, noting that it is not clear when it will be operational. Sofia Police and Municipality Emergency Assistance and Prevention teams will take over the organization of the traffic and more buses will be provided on key routes in order to compensate for the lack of lift in the coming weeks and until its work is restored.

"In the few hours until the New Year, I wish that 2024 will bring us health, love, new dreams and the strength and perseverance to make them come true. I wish together with you to make Sofia a better city to live in. Without each one of you and your active participation, there is no way we can succeed," concluded the Mayor of Sofia, Vassil Terziev.
