Newly elected mayor of Sofia, Vassil Terziev, said that he has no worries about the stated intention of his opponent in the runoff of the local vote, Vanya Grigorova, to request a verification of the election results in court.

Terziev noted that many of the voting discrepancies were actually to his detriment, rather than his opponent's.

"I know that we ran a good, positive campaign. All these machinations are beyond our team," Terziev also said.

When asked about the relationship between the governing parties, Terziev commented that he cannot tell Continue the Change what to do at the national level. "We will look for solutions at the local level, to protect the interests of the people of Sofia, which includes conversations with everyone in the Municipal Council, with finding the points of intersection," said Terziev. He noted that he would expect support for common initiatives, that have been discussed during the election campaign provided those intentions hadn't been just to win votes.

Terziev was among the participants in the Digital Trends 2023 forum in Sofia, organized by Sportal.bg and Profit.bg, and dedicated to the business transformation caused by the development of artificial intelligence.
