The construction of a museum of tennis legend Novak Djokovic will begin shortly in Serbia, the country's President Aleksandar Vucic said, as quoted by the national RTS television.

"We will soon launch the construction of a museum of Novak Djokovic to show how much we appreciate what he has accomplished and to attract tourists," Vucic said during an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Serbian national stadium in Surcin, near Belgrade.

He said: "Do you know how much the Chinese politicians respect Novak? It shows when you want to give them a racket of Novak Djokovic as a present. They are so humbled they decline to accept it, because they consider it too expensive."

Construction of Serbia's national stadium started on May 1. It will have a seating capacity of 52,000 people and parking facilities for 4,500 cars. Meanwhile, Serbia is building a complex for Expo 2027 in Belgrade.

In Vucic's words, Belgrade is becoming a hub of the whole region, not just former Yugoslavia but the wider region, owing to these projects. "I want the people to see all this construction and all this work, and to be proud of their country," the President said.
