Vice President Iliana Iotova will pay a two-day visit to Romania, the President’s press secretariat said. She will first visit the Yordan Yovkov Bulgarian Sunday School at the Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest, the embassy said.

At 6 pm Iotova will open an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews, showing documents from the collection of the Bulgarian National Library at the National Opera of Romania. It was presented for the first time on March 10 2023 in Sofia at the National Library and was officially opened by the President Rumen Radev.

On Saturday, the Vice President will visit the Romanian city of Targoviste, where she will have a joint meeting with Mayor Cristian Daniel Stan, Claudia Gilia, Prefect of the County of Dambovita, and Corneliu Stefan, President of the County Council of Dambovita. 

Afterwards, Iotova will have talks with Metropolitan Nifon at his residence and later she will participate in the celebration of the traditional feast of the Bulgarians from Targoviste - Horse Easter, also known as Tudoritsa. The program will include a mass in the St. Niphon Church, a horse parade and a folklore program with the participation of ensembles of the Bulgarian organizations from Targoviste, Baleni, Izvoarele and Vinga.
