Infrastructure, transport and energy dominated the agenda of the Thursday meeting of the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and Greece, Nikolay Denkov and Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The two government leaders held a one-on-one meeting, said the government press office.

It quotes Prime Minister Denkov as saying that Bulgaria and Greece have excellent strategic relations. He focused on the projects of interest for both countries, including in the context of the development of vertical transport and energy connectivity along the North-South axis. "The main objective is to see how we can step up the progress and achieve final results in the coming months," he said.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis put priority on connectivity between Greece and Bulgaria in transport and energy, and on digital communication. He stressed the importance of to build on the successful trilateral discussions with Romania in Euxinograd.

Nikolay Denkov's visit to the Greek capital comes less than three months after the trilateral meeting between the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania at the Euxinograd residence in October 2023, when the three sides agreed to work together to strengthen regional connectivity and adopted a joint declaration on the development of transport, energy and digital infrastructure between the three countries.
