site.btaPM Zhelyazkov, European Council President Costa Discuss Topics on EU's Agenda
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov met with European Council President Antonio Costa here on Wednesday. Zhelyazkov said that their talks focused on matters related to the informal high-level meeting on defence in February. Also discussed was the regular summit in March dedicated to competitiveness, the Multiannual Financial Framework, and the cohesion policies of the EU.
Zhelyazkov added that he and Costa also talked about important topics on the EU's agenda. "Regarding the Union's enlargement, we confirmed our position related to the Western Balkan countries: we uphold the principle of own merits," the Bulgarian PM said.
