A magnitude 4.2 quake was registered in the Vrancea seismic zone in southeastern Romania at 08:06 am on Sunday morning, Digi24 said. It was at a depth of 96.8 km.
Another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 occurred at 5:28 pm Romanian (and Bulgarian) time in the seismic region of Vrancea in Romania.
According to Digi24, the 4.2 and 3.4 quakes were proceeded by another twoquakes with magnitudes of 2.7 and 2.8, respectively. They were registered in the same area at 2:14 am and 5:36 am on Sunday.
This makes a total of four earthquakes in Romania on December 24. No damage to property has been reported.
Since the beginning of December, 17 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.1 to 4.8 on the Richter scale have been registered in Romania.
The strongest earthquake this year in Romania, with a magnitude of 5.7, was recorded on February 14 in the southwestern part of the country at a depth of 6.3 km, Agerpress recalled.
