site.btaSome 350 Figure Skaters from 41 Countries to Take Part in Sofia Trophy Competition
Some 350 athletes from 41 countries will participate in the tenth edition of the International Skating Union's figure skating tournament Sofia Trophy, which will be held on January 7-12 at the Winter Palace of Sport in the capital. The organiser of the competition is the Denkova-Staviski Club. The results will count for the European Youth Cup and the races will be part of the Sofia - European Capital of Sport initiative. Entrance for spectators will be free.
The Sofia Trophy is supported by the Bulgarian Skating Federation.
Among the entries there are figure skaters from UK, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Portugal, Mexico, Austria, Greece, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Ukraine, Turkiye, Israel, Switzerland, North Macedonia, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and others.
About 120 Bulgarian athletes will take part in the tournament, including the best Bulgarian figure skater Alexandra Feigin, as well as Kristina Grigorova and Alexander Zlatkov. Lia Lyubenova, Deyan Mihaylov, Yoanis Apostolu and others will take part in the juniors and girls.
The performance will determine Bulgaria's squad for the World Championships in Boston (US) in March. Alexandra Feigin has already covered the necessary points for participation at the European and World Championships this year. Quotas for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy will be handed out in Boston.
