site.btaBulgaria, Belarus Fail to Score on Each Other in UEFA Nations League C
The national football teams of Bulgaria and Belarus finished the first match of the UEFA Nations League group C3 in a draw after both failed to score a goal in the Hungarian city of Zalaegerszeg on Thursday night. The match was played before empty stands due to a UEFA sanction against Belarus.
While the Bulgarian footballers dominated most of the game, they failed to capitalize on their advantage mostly due to the excellent reactions of the Belarusian goalkeeper Fyodor Lapoukhov and the red card shown to Bulgaria's midfielder Filip Krastev, which had his team finish the last 16 minutes of the match one man short.
The Bulgarian national team under head coach Ilian Iliev continues its run of seven consecutive matches without a loss, however, it won only one of them, while the rest were ties.
