There are major delays in the processing and delivery of shipments from and to Ukraine, the press centre of Bulgarian Posts reported.
The postal operator in Ukraine said that the ongoing hostilities are leading to the destruction of civilian and postal infrastructure in the country. Over 2,500 Ukrposhta sites, including 1,600 post offices, and more than 500 vehicles are unusable due to damage or are under the temporary control of the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian posts are experiencing serious difficulties due to lack of power supply and internet connections, but they continue to work. In the absence of air transport, the international logistics network has been restored, with road and rail transport of postal items to and from airports outside Ukraine, the press release said.
The postal operator does not provide services in the areas under the temporary control of the Russian Federation and does not accept any postal items from these areas. Based on the current military situation, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine regularly updates the list of Ukrainian territories where hostilities have been or are being conducted and the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation. Based on this list, the list of postal codes served by Ukrainian Post is updated every week.
