Bulgaria's Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, praised the pioneering efforts of the Land Forces command to integrate drones into the Bulgarian military, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The Admiral's statement referred to a drone operators' competition at the Tyulbe Training Centre near Kazanlak (Central Bulgaria). The Chief of Defence highlighted the current challenges to organizational development, including the integration of drone operators into armed forces units and the setting up of a dedicated training centre to facilitate the widespread adoption of drones in the military.

President Rumen Radev, who is also Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, observed the drone operators' competition. Guests viewed a static display of weaponry and equipment and toured promotional stands hosted by the Land Forces, the Vasil Levski National Military University, and the Tradition Community.

After the competition, representatives of Terem Holding EAD showcased the capabilities of First Person View (FPV) drones. For their part, representatives of Samel 90 AD and Optix AD demonstrated drone and anti-drone systems.
