February 28 (BTA) - The Chief of Defence, General Andrey
Botsev, passed away in the late evening of February 27, the
Defence Ministry said in a press release Friday. Gotsev, 60,
died after a short illness.

"General Botsev leaves a lasting trace in the modern Bulgarian
military history with his honourable service in the Land Forces,
 principled attitude and firm will to solve the problems in the
Armed Forces," the press release says.

The Defence Ministry offered condolences to Botsev's family and
relatives. RY/ZH
