site.btaNational Statistical Institute Reports 1.7% Growth of Construction in January, Year-on-Year

March 10 (BTA) - According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) in January the production index in the Construction sector, calculated on the basis of seasonal data, has increased by 0.8 per cent compared to the previous month. Data show a 1.7 per cent increase in construction output in January 2020 compared to the same month in 2019.

In January, the seasonally adjusted index of manufactured construction output was above the level of the previous month, with output from civil / engineering construction increasing by 2.3 per cent, while building construction increased by 0.2 per cent.

On a year-on-year basis, the increase of construction output in January is determined by the positive rate in civil / engineering construction, where the growth is by 3.1 per cent and in building construction by 0.7 per cent. NV/DT
