Four Bulgarian writers are taking part in the Leipzig Book Fair this week, the Bulgarian Book Association said.

Todor P. Todorov, nominated for the EU Prize for Literature for his novel Hagabula, writer, screenwriter and director Georgi Tenev, Rene Karabash with her novel She Who Remains, and Yordanka Beleva with her collection of short stories Hedgehogs Come Out at Night.

The Bulgarian stand at the fair is part of the collective space of TRADUKI, the European network connecting Southeastern Europe with the German-speaking world through books, translations, festivals, workshops and residency programmes for authors and translators. Bulgaria joined the network in 2019. The national stand was organized by the Ministry of Culture.

Bulgarian Book Association President Dessi Alexieva said the Leipzig Book Fair is one of the landmark events in the literary calendar of Europe and the world. The Association's partnership with the Culture Ministry at book fairs continues, making it possible to fully represent Bulgaria and introduce a wide range of Bulgarian authors and their latest works to the international audience, she said.
