Turkiye will remain solidary with its friends in difficult times, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wrote on the social network X on Monday. He was responding to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev's expression of gratitude for Turkiye's support in fighting the wildfires in Bulgaria.

"Dear counterpart, fighting forest fires is a human responsibility of all of us. Turkiye will continue to stand in solidarity with all its friends in difficult times. On behalf of myself and my nation, I convey my best wishes for recovery and greetings to the people of Bulgaria", Erdogan wrote in Turkish.

The published comment is a response to the gratitude expressed earlier in X by the Bulgarian head of State Radev:  “My sincere gratitude to President Erdogan for the timely support of the Republic of Turkiye and the courageous Turkish firemen in the fight against the devastating fires in Bulgaria”.
